Welcome

Charlotte Catholic High School Foundation
Supporting Charlotte Catholic High School since 1974

In 1974, a group of dedicated parents started the Charlotte Catholic High School Foundation to provide funding for academic and cultural enhancements that could not be met through tuition alone.

Mission Statement

The mission of the CCHS Foundation is to enrich the development of our students by raising funds that support the current and future initiatives of Charlotte Catholic High School.

Vision Statements

Faith

  • All initiatives will be inclusive of Catholic faith-based values.

  • Students, faculty, and staff should be encouraged to demonstrate their faith through community service and regular participation in traditional Catholic services (i.e. Mass, and all sacraments).

  • Extracurricular activities will promote religious visibility and social interaction to provide a positive and meaningful experience for the students.

Education

  • Provide affordable education for those who want to attend.
  • Provide quality education which meets or exceeds AdvancEd standards.
  • Create an environment that allows each student to achieve his/her maximum potential.
  • Attract and retain quality teachers who strive to make a difference in our students’ development.
  • Promote students’ exposure to the arts and an opportunity to deepen and appreciate artistic capabilities.
  • Understand how to be successful in a global economy by including global awareness and religious/social/economic factors in the school curriculum
  • Provide facilities and technology that enable CCHS to meet its educational vision.

Culture

Encourage teachers, staff and parents to support a student centered environment
  • Promote school spirit and competitiveness with a caring and respectful attitude toward others.
  • Enhance student diversity and an appreciation for the unique attributes offered by a diverse environment.
  • Encourage students to be aware of their God given talents and develop these talents.

Personal Values

  • Encourage students, faculty, and staff to demonstrate integrity, honesty and respect for individuals.
  • Promote an environment which emphasizes moral leadership, responsibility, and accountability.
  • Develop students’ creativity and innovation in an environment that supports risk taking without fear of failure.

Guiding Principles

  1. All initiatives must support the four components of the Vision - Faith, Education, Culture and Personal Values.
  2. Short-term initiatives will be funded from annual fundraisers
  3. The Foundation will support select extraordinary fundraising initiatives which fall beyond the scope of the annual fundraising event(s); including but not limited to Capital campaigns, Planned Giving, and Endowments.
  4. The Foundation or CCHS, in cooperation with other Catholic organizations, will provide leadership for those initiatives that are solely or predominately for the benefit of CCHS.
  5. The Foundation will participate in a supportive role on initiatives that impact CCHS and other Catholic schools.
  6. There will be accountability by the individual or group that requests financial support from the Foundation, for example:
    • Requests for support should use fact-based data (e.g., benchmarks) to justify the value/benefit of the request (where applicable).
    • The requester is expected to document and demonstrate the benefits of his/her/its request upon completion.
  7. The Foundation will be accountable to the CCHS Community; specifically it will compile and summarize the benefits of funded initiatives and report their findings back to the CCHS Community to ensure transparency and accountability.
  8. The Foundation will team with CCHS Leadership and MACS Education Foundation to determine the priority of various initiatives. Specifically, they will conduct an annual review of initiatives and priorities to achieve the Vision and will include a strength/weakness assessment, benchmark analysis, and metrics for objective evaluations.

Donations raised by the Foundation are administered by its Board of Directors, which today includes not only school parents but also alumni and parents of alumni.

Over the years, the CCHS Foundation has financed important needs such as furnishings for our chapel, various teacher grants, technology, the automation of the library, a front entrance sign, building crosses, a campus-wide security system, a new drum line for the marching band and tuition assistance.

The Foundation's annual Gala is the force that powers these advantages, essential to providing the best educational opportunity the Charlotte Catholic community can offer.

Your support of the Foundation ensures that Charlotte Catholic High School will continue to graduate highly educated students for years to come.

Throughout its history, Charlotte Catholic High School has been blessed with friends who understand that the issue of increasing enrollment depends on significant financial support.

The Charlotte Catholic High School Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that Charlotte Catholic High School remains one of the finest educational institutions in the area.
