Father Joseph Matlak

Fr. Joseph Matlak was born on March 2, 1985, in Dunstable, Bedfordshire, in the English countryside. He graduated from Nicholas Breakspear R.C. Secondary School in Saint Albans, Hertfordshire, then spent a "gap year" teaching English in Normandy, France. In 2007, he graduated from King's College London with a Bachelor of Arts in Ancient History, then entered St. Josaphat Seminary at the Catholic University of America, Washington DC, where he obtained a Bachelor of Sacred Theology and Master of Divinity. On October 1, 2015, he was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Bohdan Danylo in Parma, Ohio. In 2018, he completed the Licentiate in Sacred Theology (STL) from the Catholic University of America. He is the administrator of St. Basil the Great Parish in Charlotte, and Holy Cross Mission in Columbia, South Carolina, as well as chaplain of Charlotte Catholic High School and Holy Trinity Catholic Middle School in Charlotte.
