Meet the Options/Pathways Program Team
Mrs. Shelley Floriani - Co-Director/Options Teacher
Before joining Charlotte Catholic, Shelley taught students with diverse learning needs in Union County, North Carolina, as well as in New Jersey and Connecticut. She has been a member of the Charlotte Catholic faculty for the past five years and holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree in Special Education. Although originally from New Jersey, Shelley and her family have proudly called Charlotte home for more than 20 years. Her two sons are Charlotte Catholic graduates from the Classes of 2022 and 2024. Shelley feels truly blessed to be part of the Options Program and looks forward to another wonderful year with her students.

Mrs. Katherine Reynolds - Co-Director/Options Teacher
For the past 30 years, Kate has dedicated her career to educating children in a variety of settings. She began as a classroom teacher before serving for many years as an elementary school assistant principal. Most recently, she spent eight years as the assistant director of the St. Albert’s Autism Program before relocating from Ohio to Charlotte to begin an exciting new chapter. Kate and her husband have been blessed to raise six wonderful children, all of whom received a Catholic education. She has truly enjoyed her time at Charlotte Catholic High School over the past two years and is grateful to continue serving as part of the Options/Pathways team.

Mrs. Deborah Buchan - Options Teacher Assistant
Deb is a member of the Options Department, assisting Mrs. Floriani and Mrs. Reynolds with Options classes and students. Her love of children and education led her to direct a childcare and development program with a staff of 10 professionals serving more than 95 students. Originally from Georgia, Deb moved to South Carolina with her family in 1987. She has two grown children and three beautiful granddaughters. She is now enjoying the next generation of her family, focusing her avocational energy on her three charming and precocious great-granddaughters. Deb loves working with young people and firmly believes that being around them keeps her young and energetic!

Mrs. Megan Patterson - Options/Pathways Instructional Job Coach
Megan is a mom to three young children, and this is an especially exciting year for her family as her oldest begins kindergarten in the MACS system. Her background includes teaching elementary school, coaching girls’ lacrosse, designing learning experiences, and coaching adult learners. In her most recent role, she worked in client success, where she had the opportunity to build relationships with local Charlotte businesses, develop partnerships, and understand their needs. Megan is excited to bring that experience into the Pathways program and continue building meaningful partnerships within the community.

Mrs. AnnMarie Monroe
For the past two years, Annmarie has been blessed to be part of the Charlotte Catholic High School community and she absolutely loves working with the students in the Pathways Program. She graduated from Rhode Island College with a degree in Special Education and has spent more than 32 years teaching students from early childhood through high school. Annmarie moved to Charlotte with her family six years ago and is grateful to call this wonderful city home. Outside of school, she loves reading, walking, and spending time with her grandson. One of her favorite purchases was buying the car of her dreams—a light blue Volkswagen Beetle Convertible! Ms. M is looking forward to another wonderful year with the Options/Pathways team!
