  • CONGRATULATIONS to your Women’s Swim & Dive Team STATE CHAMPIONS with a 4-peat 3A win and Men’s team finishing Third!

     

    Our AquaCougars came home with the Gold last night in Cary, NC, with our Women’s team winning yet another 3A Swimming & Diving State Championship Title, beating Marvin Ridge by 40 points, and the Men’s team placing 3rd.

     

    In Men’s diving, Senior Alec Hubbard defended his State Title bringing home 1st place with tremendous final dives to win by 5 points!

     

    The Women’s medley relay, Madeline Menkhaus, Sydney Sanders, Kendra Johnson and Olivia Rhodes, kicked off the swim competition setting a new 3A State Record of 1:44.69

     

    The Men’s medley relay, Alex Ayers, Ryan Bambrick, Jude Denton, and Bryson Mrzygod dropped nearly 3 seconds to get on the podium for 4th place. 

     

    Senior Menkhaus was selected as the MVP of the meet winning the 200-yard IM by nearly 3 seconds and 100-yard butterfly.  

     

    Senior Rhodes took 1st in 50-yard free with a personal best time of 22.99 and 2nd in 100-yard free

     

    The women’s 200 free relay, Olivia Rhodes, Kendra Johnson, Hope Borders, and Abby Druhan swept first place by over 2 seconds.  

     

    Additionally, the Men’s 200-yard free relay, Bryson Mrzygod, Josh Mall, Evan Carlisto, and Jacob Wimberly inched out a 3rd place win by just .70 seconds. 

     

    Freshman Lauren Bernardo swam a personal best of 56.48 in 100-yard back for 3rd place.

     

    Sophomore Sydney Sanders placed 2nd in 200-yard IM

     

    Freshman Jacob Wimberly brought home 1st place win in 100-yard back, 2nd place in 200-yard free.

    Freshman Alex Ayers placed 3rd in both the 500-yard free and 200-yard IM events. 

     

    The Men’s 400-yard free relay, Alex Ayers, Bryson Mrzygod, Jude Denton, and Jacob Wimberly wrapped up the meet with a stellar race resulting in 3rd place on the podium.

     

    Women’s 400-yard Free Relay, Madeline Menkhaus, Lauren Bernardo, Julia Gehrig and Abby Druhan brought home a 2nd place win with a tight race against Marvin Ridge only missing 1st by .13 seconds.

     

    Madeline Menkhaus also received the Women’s Sportsmanship Award.
