A Capital Campaign for Charlotte Catholic High School
Charlotte Catholic has launched a transformative capital campaign to fund a $10.5 million campus expansion and renovation—an effort that will impact generations of CCHS students. With a commitment from MACS of $2 million, our goal is to raise $8.5 million from parents, alumni, businesses and friends of CCHS.
The capital campaign has two strategic phases that will expand and update our campus, creating an even stronger foundation for our students to thrive. The first phase ($6.8 million) will modernize and enhance critical academic, student-life, and career-readiness facilities, including an expanded Student Life & Media Center, a new Computer, Technology, and Engineering (CTE) Innovation Center, and a premium turf field. These projects are designed to elevate learning, athletics, and campus life, ensuring our students are equipped to succeed today and for years to come.
The second phase ($3.7 million) will expand our campus by building a multipurpose fieldhouse supporting athletics, academics, wellness, and community life.
Learn more about the outcomes that will come as a result of a successful campaign, pray for the success of this important effort, and keep an eye out for ways that you can be a part of our success.

Why are we being asked for support now?
It’s time to move forward on long‑needed improvements to our campus. This is our opportunity to lead boldly and expand our vision for the future. A project of this scale requires community momentum. Early commitments ensure we can begin visible improvements next summer and deliver upgrades that will benefit thousands of current and future students.
Didn't we just have a capital campaign?
The last campaign was seven years ago and resulted in the MACS Fine Arts Center at CCHS. Prior to that, in 1994 CCHS launched the “Building Faith through Education” campaign to help pay for the construction of a new high school on Highway 51 when CCHS relocated from Park Road to the current campus. This current initiative is only the 3rd capital campaign in the past 32 years.
When would construction begin?
Our goal is to begin work as early as summer 2026 so that donors and students can see immediate, meaningful progress. Early commitments are essential to keeping the timeline on track and allowing us to coordinate contractors, permitting, and sequencing efficiently. If we reach additional fundraising milestones, we could potentially move forward with an additional phase (or even more!)
Why are we raising money for facilities when there are so many other important causes that need our financial support?
There are many causes in need of financial support, but that does not diminish the impact this project will have on our students and the Catholic community. Our talented faculty and staff have been working hard in facilities that lack 21st-century learning and performing spaces. It’s time to upgrade and expand our facilities!
Will school tuition go up because of these construction projects?
Will school enrollment increase?
Have we explored other options?
Why emphasize pledged commitments?
Why is each donor asked to complete a pledge commitment form?
Can I direct my gift to only one part of the project?
We welcome your passion for a specific element of the project, and we are happy to note which area resonates with you. Because this is a comprehensive campaign, all gifts support the entire project. Completing one phase depends on the successful funding of the whole plan. Supporting the comprehensive campaign ensures an efficient construction timeline, keeps costs down, and delivers all improvements as intended.
Why can't we fund one phase at a time?
Funding one phase at a time may seem simpler, but it would increase overall costs, extend timelines, and reduce flexibility. Several project components must be completed in a specific sequence, and bundling site preparation, utilities, and equipment reduces expense. A comprehensive approach is the most responsible, cost-effective model.
Why do all gifts count toward the full campaign goal?
Why should my family support this campaign if it doesn’t directly impact me or my children?
Charlotte Catholic—and all of our schools—exist today because of the generosity of those who came before us. Many families benefited from an outstanding Catholic education thanks to prior donors. Through the combined efforts of our entire Catholic community, we can achieve our goals. This is an opportunity to pay it forward and support Catholic education for future generations.
Is my pledge legally binding?
What if I am unable to fulfill my pledge?
I already give through my capital fee. Why should I give again?
Does my campaign pledge affect my annual giving to the schools?
Who will be asked to participate in the campaign?
Why are you asking for money all the time?
We understand—it can feel like we’re asking frequently. What we are talking about here is different from annual giving. Capital gifts are a unique opportunity to make a transformational investment in the future of our school—upgrading facilities, expanding programs, and creating a legacy for generations of students. These gifts are extraordinary, inspiring, and go beyond day-to-day support, helping to make bold, long-term improvements possible.
How do you determine a pledge amount for each family?
Can you send me a pledge card to mail in?
Who will know how much I pledged?
Is my gift tax deductible?
What happened to the land the Diocese used to own (that is now Ballantyne Ridge High School)? Did we receive any money from that sale?
The Diocese sold that land several years ago. The proceeds were used to support a variety of diocesan priorities, including strengthening programs and investing for the future through endowment funds. While CCHS did not receive funds directly from that sale, those investments have helped the Diocese continue its broader mission and support schools like ours in sustainable ways.
My gift is dependent on leadership (CCHS, diocesan or CSO).
We completely understand how important strong leadership is when making a significant investment. One of the strengths of this project is that it does not rest on any single individual. This campaign is guided by a collaborative leadership structure that includes CCHS administration, diocesan/CSO oversight, our campaign cabinet, and a broad group of community volunteers. Because the project is bigger than any one person, we’ve intentionally built a framework that ensures continuity, accountability, and long-term stability—regardless of changes in personnel. The focus is on the mission, the students we serve, and a shared commitment across multiple levels of leadership. Your gift is not tied to one leader, it’s supported by a unified team, a clear plan, and a community that believes deeply in the future of CCHS.
